FAQ.

Q: How old are you?

A: I will be 18 shortly.

Q: How do you do your hair?

A: I curl it with my straightener, back comb the top layer, never use any hairspray or hair products.

Q: Do you have extensions?

A: Yes.

Q: What do you need to know when buying extensions?

A: First off, extensions are nonrefundable once purchased. So make sure you’re serious about buying them. I STRONGLY suggest NOT buying them online so you can see them in person and make sure they are what you want. Next, they sell synthetic and real hair extensions. NEVER buy synthetic if you plan on wearing these extensions all the time or if you plan on coloring them, styling them, washing them, etc. Synthetic extensions knot extremely easily, they melt when heat is applied to them, and you can’t do anything with them as far as coloring or anything. Real hair extensions, you can do pretty much anything to TO A CERTAIN EXTENT. The hair is dead, therefore, it cannot restore itself once it’s dead. So try to refrain from causing damage to them. They can take a beating, but sooner or later, they will get destroyed. I replace my extensions about twice a year if I’m lucky. Next, you have to consider length. The longer the extensions, the more they will cost. You also have to consider the fact that you WILL be cutting them (if you’re smart at least). Extensions need layering to look nice. If you don’t layer them, they will just lay there and you will blatantly be able to tell they are extensions. So you need experience cutting hair. Next, consider color. YOU CANNOT LIGHTEN EXTENSIONS. I’ve tried multiple times to bleach extensions, and for some odd reason, it only worked once, which was when I first bleached my dip dye. However it lightened to a faint pink color, not blonde. With that being said, buy the color closest to your own. If the color closest to yours is darker, DO NOT buy it, buy a color lighter than yours and just dye the extensions the color you dye your hair. Next you have to consider the texture of your hair. Extensions come in several different textures. If you have very smooth hair, like I do, then you need to get that. Some come a bit “frizzy” if you will, to make some hair types. Some are more coarse than others. So consider that to make sure the textures match.  Doing extensions with tracks yourself, you can either clip in the extensions, or glue them in. Mine are clipped, which is nice, however you have to put them in everyday. If you glue them in, they get ruined faster, not to mention you will lose A LOT of hair when you take them out. So I suggest clips. Maintenance wise, try to refrain from washing them a lot. Like I said, they get ruined quickly due to the fact that they cannot repair themselves. You can certainly wash them, just not as often as you would wash your own hair.

Q: What kind of hair dye do you use?

A: I use a professional dye that needs to be mixed yourself called Ion.

Q: How many times do you dye your hair?

A: Once a month, once every three weeks if I’m lucky.

Q: How do you keep your hair so red?

A: Along with dying once every month, I purchase an extra bottle of hair dye and mix it in my shampoo and conditioner. I also use professional color treated shampoo and conditioner. I wash my hair with COLD water, never use hairspray or any other product capable of making my color fade, and I try my best to limit use of heat products. And if you don’t want to buy an extra bottle of dye, I’ve heard adding a dash of cinnamon to your shampoo pumps your color up a bit!

Q: What is your natural hair color?

A: Blonde.

Q: How do you make your GIFs?

A: I use Photoshop CS4. Not all versions of Photoshop are capable of uploading video, so if you plan on purchasing Photoshop for this reason, I suggest getting anything after CS!

I will add to this if I can remember any other questions that come up a lot!
